Message Monday: Yet This I Call To Mind...

I started my weekly "Message Monday" as an attempt to help get your week started right.  There's nothing better than an encouraging, inspiring message to kick me in gear!  I figured that may also be true for some of you!  Let's also face it, I'm a pastor.  This is wired deep within me!  While I love all things pop culture and sharing my secrets on how to save money, it is also my heart's desire to point people to a God who takes joy in us casting our cares on Him!

So today...let's do just that! Shall we?

If you have your Bible, turn with me to...JUST KIDDING!  I do say that every Sunday, though!

Life is full of hardships.  We struggle and we toil a lot.  In fact, sometimes we may feel like the world is doing more beating us up than we're doing conquering it!  When we have those moments of feeling we've really been through the ringer, it is then we have to keep this in mind:

"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
-Lamentations 3:21-23

If you read the verses before that one, you'll read a person who sounds as if they've been completely consumed and afflicted.  Yet, once they come to verse 21, there is a realization of what is really true-God is faithful.  Because God is faithful, we can continue to remind ourselves that even when we feel consumed, the reality is we aren't.  When we wake up the next morning, we start clean and tackle the day ahead of us knowing that no matter what, God has our back.  He hasn't left us in the quicksand. He hasn't passed us over.  A lot of times He's working on your behalf and His provisions are on their way in our times of deepest need.

So today if your plans don't go as you intended or if you're really feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, call this back to your mind: God is faithful.  He sees you where you are.  He won't fail you even when it might feel like the rest of the world already has.
